macOS Ventura App Compatibility Issues

(Last Updated: 1/23/2023)
On January 22, Apple began assertively pushing the upgrade of macOS to Ventura to all end users, regardless of any deferrals implemented by IT Teams due to existing app incompatibility issues. As a result, Macktez has reduced access to the update panel temporarily for our Managed clients to delay the upgrade while we gather more information.

We still do not have confirmation that known compatibility issues with various common applications (like Adobe Creative Cloud and Malwarebytes) have been fully resolved, and as such are delaying these pushes to end users for a bit longer while we attempt to obtain confirmation that allowing end-user based upgrades to Ventura will not result in lost productivity or data after the upgrade.

We appreciate your patience while we investigate the details of application compatibility issues that may still exist. If you’d prefer to take the plunge and allow Ventura updates within your organization, let us know and we can definitely explore that together. However, please be aware that there may be some application compatibility limitations that will need to be accepted if you choose to allow users to upgrade to Ventura at this time. Our goal is to have a better understanding of existing application incompatibilities and provide another update by the end of January.
